Ely RSCM instrumental group - Opportunities for instrumentalists

There are occasions in Ely Cathedral (and elesewhere) when we need to put together instrumental ensembles for various services. Having put together various ad-hoc groups over the last few years, we now believe it is time to create a more stable group on whom we can call when the need arises.

Anyone in Bar Hill who is interested should contact Bob, who is co-ordinating the venture with Jan Payne.

Ely Cathedral Octagon singers

This is a group of singers from all over the Diocese who have been singing together for a year at various events, including Evensongs in the Cathedral, Diocesan confirmations and a variety of other services.

Anyone who would like to find out more should contact the Director, Jan Payne, whose e-mail address is available from Bob Chappell.

Music Practices

Unless you hear otherwise, practices normally begin at 7.15pm on a Friday evening in the main Worship Hall.

Practices begin with a short reading and reflection, and a prayer.

We prepare the music for the Sunday morning service, and learn any new songs likely in the next few weeks.

Most practices take under an hour and a half, and we conclude by saying the grace together.
