Report on Fossil Hunt:
The Fossil Hunt was split over 2 days.
On the first day we made plaster cast fossils in the morning and were shown a presentation on fossils and the periods different types were in.
We then went to Dymock’s Cote quarry.
At the quarry we searched for fossils first in the rock piles and then along the cliff face.
On the second day we cleaned up the fossils we had found with water and acid.
Then we went to the Sedgwick Museum and looked at all the displays and identified our fossils.
After lunch we went on a short visit to the Zoology Museum.
I learnt a bit more about fossils and enjoyed the talk we had at the museum as well as Mr.Chappell’s presentation.
However I’d been last year as well but came back as it was so good.
I enjoyed the fieldwork in the quarry best as we got to find our own fossils and keep them as well as get muddy.
I also liked the trip to the museum as I learned a lot and the displays were really good.
